The aim of this scheme is to make the impacts of climate change on physical and mental health visible to drive urgent climate policy action at scale. Wellcome will fund transdisciplinary teams to deliver short-term, high-impact projects that maximise policy outcomes by combining evidence generation, policy analysis, engaged research approaches and communication strategies.
This scheme provides funding for mid-career researchers from any discipline who have the potential to be international research leaders. They will develop their research capabilities, drive innovative programmes of work and deliver significant shifts in understanding related to human life, health and wellbeing. You can apply for a this grant if you are a mid-career researcher and you are ready to lead a substantial and innovative research programme.
This scheme will provide funding for established researchers and teams from any discipline who want to pursue bold and creative research ideas to deliver significant shifts in understanding related to human life, health and wellbeing. The average size of a Discovery Award is £3.5 million, although we have supported awards from £700,000 to £8 million. The average duration of a Discovery Award is 7 years.
